I PASSED!!! I'm an RN!!!

So I took the NCLEX on Monday the 23rd. I found out that I passed the 24th at 11:00pm when the website refreshes. It's crazy that I'm finished and it still doesn't seem real. I worked very hard doing 150 practice question a day for about 3 weeks straight. But I'm so happy to have finally reached my goal that took me 7 1/2 year to get. I'm so excited to give my time to my wonderful husband and little girl. This is proof that I am officially a Registered Nurse!!!

Quick up date

This is Travis, I'm updating you on why Kira is not posting... Here are the top 3 reasons.

She has been busy at school. you'll be glad to know that she has finished Nursing school and is pursing a Job in this field.
Since finishing school there is one more step she must take to obtain her nursing license, the NCLEX. She has been studying hard for this test and will be taking it on the 23rd of this month. Wish her luck.
Okay I guess there are only two reasons but since I have your attention , you should check out my blog tkdsign.blogspot.com. I decided to start contributing. Check it out to find out more

4th Semester Clinical Group

This is my 4th semester clinical group. We were able to do our clinicals at the U! This was a fun group. Six of us started out from first semester. It's nice to be able to stay with your friends. The exciting part is this is the last clinicals and will soon be finished. Its so nice to finally be at this point.

Disaster Drill

I have a class named Community. For this class I have to get 11 hours in the community and 32 hours at a facility. I get to do mine at the jail. So I went to this disaster drill in Utah county and it counted for 6 hours of my 11. It was fun, I got to play a person who had a head injury and was unconscious. It was fun having the makeup artist put blood on my head and being with my friends.

We went swimming at the Taylorsville pool with my family and a few cousins. Alexa was sitting on this chair and Kenzie had to climb up and sit right next to her. These two like to play together.

On the way home Kenzie fell asleep and was out. This was how she was after a 5 minute drive. So tired and cute. We had a fun time!

New York Day 9

We were so tired from yesterday that today we slept in a bit and Travis brought Kenzie and I breakfast in bed. He is so good to us! We got checked out of our hotel and checked our bags with the bell man. Then we decided to go to Coney Island. We walked around a bit and got lunch.

There were a lot of people here. Probably because of it being Saturday.

It was fun to see Coney Island. After eating lunch we headed back to the city. Travis went to get our bags from the hotel and Kenzie and I went to time square to get a couple I love NY shirts. I saw some for a good deal at a store. We were then going to meet at a subway station and make our way to the airport. Well we both made it to the subway station but we were in different parts of the station and we couldn't find each other for like 15 minutes and our phones wouldn't work down there. I got freaked out but we finally found each other and made our way on the subway to JFK airport.

Kenzie was sitting funny in the stroller on the elevator on the way to the air train.

We got through security and got some dinner then the next thing we knew the plain was boarding. We got on the plane and Kenzie was so happy to be able to move around on our seats and try to climb. I think she knew we were going home. Then we ended up sitting on the plane for and hour and a half before we took off due to backups because of rain. When we made it over the Salt Lake Valley Kenzie saw the lights out the window, she was so excited and kept pointing at all the lights. We had a fun, busy, and tiring trip. But we were happy to get home.

Thanks to Johnny and Joanna for letting us stay with you. Thanks to all the kind families from Travis' mission who were so generous to us. We had a wonderful time!

New York Day 8

We started our day in line at Battery Park waiting to get on the boat to go to see the Statue of Liberty.

The long line. We ended up waiting in line for an hour and a half before we got on the boat.

We ate lunch at liberty island then got on the boat and made our way to Ellis island.

I was tired from all the waiting so we didn't stay at Ellis island for very long.

We then went to where the twin towers were and the trade center memorial center.

This memorial was good. It was very touching and sad. I think Travis and myself about had tears in our eyes.

After this we went back to Johnny and Joanna's place to get our bags and headed to our hotel in Chelsey. We got settled in our hotel then went and got pizza. Then we went to the empire state building. We waited and waited in line. Today was all about waiting in line.

New York Day 7

We started our day at the Museum of Natural History. Kenzie likes all the animals.

Kenzie feel asleep after awhile. Most of the rooms were dark.

We ate lunch then went to see the temple. We wanted to do a session while we were here but the temple was closed the whole week. When we were walking to go to it I asked Travis if we were almost there, he said why don't you just look up. I did and you could see angle Moroni. It just looked like another build until you look up.

There is a stake center inside. So we used the bathroom and let Kenzie run around for a bit. The whole time we were there she spent most her time in the stroller.

After the temple we got on a subway to time square and got on a New York City sights tour bus. It was a tour of the south part of the island.

We then took a subway over to Brooklyn and ate at this famous pizza place at the end of the Brooklyn bridge. We waited about an hour to get seated. It's call Grimaldi's Pizzeria. It was pretty good pizza!

Then on the way back we walked to Brooklyn Bridge. It was fun, we enjoyed this activity.

New York Day 6

We started the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This was an interesting one on the wall.

Travis liked this one because it moved.

We had to use no flash so they didn't turn out too clear.

We did a lot this day as you can tell. We were very tired but had a ton of fun!

New York Day 5

We woke up and checked out of our hotel then headed up to see White Plains and Scarsdale the other areas where Travis served.

This is the church in Scarsdale. The mission home is like right behind the church. After this we drove back up to Stamford to return the rental car because there weren't any other rental places near a train station. We got back on the Metro North and headed back to the city.

Travis also served in Port Chester we didn't make it there so we took a picture of the sign as we went past it on the train.

We took the train and got off at Grand Central Station. This is me at Grand Central.

Our friend Johnny who we are staying with works in advertising. His "Tropicana" add campaign started this week at grand central so we had to take a picture by some of it.

We made it back to Johnny and Joanna's apartment then we headed to the beach.

We took the subway to the beach. We didn't make a transfer so we had to wait a few minutes and the door was open and this Pigeon got on the subway. We thought it was funny. We got off and the bird was still on. We wonder how far the bird got.

Kenzie fell asleep on the way to the beach. This is how she took many naps.

We made it to Rockaway beach in Brooklyn. Kenzie was very excited. This is her first beach trip.

New York Day 4

Day 4 started out in Yonkers. This is Travis and Kenzie in front of the church building in Yonkers.

This is the street Travis lived on.

A park on the main street in Yonkers. Travis and Jordan Rogers call it "el parque de los viejitos" it means park of the old people. When serving here he said that old people would always be here playing checkers.

After walking around Yonkers in the heat and me complaining about "Why are we walking when we have a car?" We decided to drive to Travis' other areas he served instead of walking and taking the subway. I was much happier with this decision and it meant that Kenzie would get a longer nap.
We first drove to the Bronx and Travis showed me where his area was here and where the church was.

The LDS church in the Bronx, NY. Travis calls it Kingsbridge, part of the Bronx. He tried to find someone he baptized here but there was no answer at the door. He wasn't sure if they had moved or not.

We then drove over the Broadway bridge to go to Washington Heights one of his other areas. It is located at the north side of Manhattan Island.

We stopped at the Innwood ward church building in Washington Heights. There were some missionaries there so we used the bathroom and let Kenzie run around for a while. After that we went across the street to a park to feed Kenzie and let her play a bit.

After the park we ate, got back in the car, and drove to Harlem another area where Travis served.

We got out so Kenzie could run around for a few minutes.

After driving around Harlem we made our way back down the city to cross the Broadway Bridge again. It was fun experiencing driving in New York City. You sure do get honked at a lot.

We went back to Yonkers and Travis called the missionaries in Yonkers. (Some missionaries earlier gave him their number cause he was looking for a member earlier but no one answered.) The missionaries knew who Travis was looking for and gave us their address. The family he was looking for The Morante Family.

Us with the Morante Family. Travis baptized the daughter. She had left Saturday for California and this was Monday. We missed seeing her by a couple days. It was nice to meet the rest of the family. They were so generous and gave Kenzie some yummy treats.

She was so excited to see it was Travis at her door.

We then went at had dinner with The Linares's Family.

After our long day we went back to our hotel in Ardsley. It was kinda creepy so I was glad it was our last night at that hotel. It was so fun to be able to see all these places that Travis served. It's way different then how I pictured it.

New York Day 3

We woke up and went to the Spanish ward in Stamford. Janet wanted Kenzie to wear the dress she gave her. It is a cute dress. Kenzie was wandering around during Sunday school so I took a few pictures with my phone.

Sacrament was last and Kenzie finally feel asleep. She fell and got a bump on her head that is the bump you can see.

After church we went and visited the Vera family. They were so kind and even gave Kenzie a toy they had grown out of.

We then got to go spend time with Cesar and Elida. They made us a delicious dinner. Elida has the cutest laugh.

Travis just loves these guys. They are one of the main reasons we came out to New York because they are moving in November back to Guatemala.

We had a wonderful time visiting in Stamford. There was a lot of Spanish and I didn't understand. But it was so nice to meet the people who Travis talks about all the time. We then drove back to New York that evening. We dropped Johnny and Joanna off to catch the subway and we made our way to Yonkers were we were going to stay for the night.

New York Day 2

Where we slept at Johnny and Joanna's place. They were so kind to let us stay with them.

We woke up, got ready then got on the subway and then a bus to catch a Metro North train at the fordham station in the Bronx to get to Stamford, Connecticut.

Out side the train station there was a cart selling coco helado. Travis and Johnny's favorite summer time treat in the city.

We made it to Stamford and rented a car. Then Travis and Johnny navigated us around to show us where they lived and places they went while on their mission. We made it to this park that had a very nice view.

Joanna and myself walked out further to see the beautiful view. Kenzie was asleep so the guys stayed back with her.

It was nice having the car because then Kenzie actually got a decent nap.

After we got checked into our hotel, we went to dinner with the Garcia family. They are a family that Travis and Johnny taught. It was cute because they still have a picture of Travis and Johnny when they were missionaries in the living room.

Janet had a little girl Rose that was a month older than Kenzie. They had fun playing together.

She made us a nice meal. She also gave Kenzie the cutest little dress.

They loved playing in the hose.

Later that night another friend Luis stopped by our hotel room and brought us some yummy pizza. He had to work so this was the only way to be able to see him.

Travis and Johnny seemed so happy all day. It was fun to see how these people just love them. They are wonderful people. What a nice day in Stamford.

New York Day 1

Our plane tickets to New York! We left early Friday morning with a nonstop flight.

We made it to New York and got on the air train then onto the subway to make it to our friends Johnny and Joanna's apartment. It took us an hour and a half to get there.

Rodeo & Fireworks

We went to the Days of 47 Rodeo with our friends Jordan and Ashley. We had sweet seats thanks to my Dad who is on the Rodeo committee. After we went back to our house and lit fireworks for our first time since we have been married. They were nothing fancy but we had fun. July is a fun month.

For Kenzie's Birthday party we did an Elmo themed party. I made the Elmo cake and cupcakes my Mom helped make the frosting. We did a swim party at Grandma and Grandpa Hendrickson's pool because Kenzie loves to swim. We had fun and lots of family and friends came. It was cute because all her friends helped her eat her cake. She got lots of fun toys and cute things. Thanks everyone who came, we love you all!!! The party was the day before her Birthday because her Birthday was on Sunday.

Antilope By Moonlight

We went to Antilope Island again for the Antilope By Moonlight. We did it a few years ago so we trained a little bit to be ready to ride. We went with The Jensen family, Brent (Travis' Dad), and Christian from our ward. It was fun I didn't have to stop once. Travis pulled Kenzie and she did well. She slept most of the time. It was about 23 miles it was a nice ride.

On the 4th we woke up and went to the West Jordan parade. Travis' sister Brenda was in the parade for the salon she works at. We got rained on a little bit but it was fun. That night we did fireworks at Travis' parents house. It was a nice relaxing holiday.

Every year over the 4th of July my family has a party with my Dad's side. Lots of people come and there is always lots of yummy food. The other pictures were later that night Kenzie kept trying to get thing from underneath her walker. It was too funny we had to take pictures.

One Friday most of family all went to liberty park to hang out and let the kids run through the water. Everyone had a great time. Kenzie loves the water. Family Reunion

Travis' Mom's side of the family had a family reunion down at the Richfield KOA. We went down Friday until Sunday. We had fun that included watching movies on Travis' home made movie screen, swimming, a walk by the river, and playing minute to win it games. It was nice to get a way for the weekend. Kenzie plays with her hair when she is in the car, when she is tired, and when she eats. This was Kenzie's first trip away from home.

We went to the park with Becky and Alexa. Kenzie had a lot of fun and loved the swings. I love her face in all of them. Alexa didn't want to look at the camera. It was a little chilly but we still had fun.

Sick Baby

Runny nose and shirt off cause she was burning up. Poor thing.

Makes Mom sad when she doesn't feel well.

It's not like Kenzie to just sit.

Kenzie got her first tooth. She had a really high fever and runny nose. It only lasted about a day. And last week she had a stomach bug that lasted for ten days. That was not fun at all. But at least she waited to get sick until I was out of school for the summer.

So my Mom helped me make these bandannas for my two best friends little boys. We think they turned out very cute. Kenzie was good about letting us use her head to see if they work. I think she looks cute in them as well. Thanks Mom for your help! Jennica and Audrey hope you guys like them!

Feeding the Horse

I tended Brenda's kids and we walked to the park by our house and there are some horses. So we feed the horse some grass. They all liked it and Kenzie got really excited by the horse and was laughing. It was a nice day to be out.

New Car Seat

We got Kenzie a new car seat. She kept trying to sit up in her old one. She likes this one a lot. The only down side is she still has to face backwards until she is two due to new regulations. She is getting too big. Man how the time goes so fast.

School

This was my clinical group for 3rd semester. We had a lot of fun. Our clinical group was the only one to have two clinical's in the same week. We were finished by March 3rd. We did our clinical's at the U of U hospital and at the Copper Hills youth center. I had some great opportunities.

We had lots of good times together.

This semester was hard and very busy. But I passed all my classes and did well. I'm so excited that I get to move on to 4th semester and my last semester in the fall. But, for now I get to enjoy the summer off with my Hubby and Kenzie.

Travis turned 26 this year. We went to Fast Five the movie. Travis likes all those movies because of the cars. After the movie we went and ate at Italian Village. Travis' favorite place to eat. We had a good time! Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Learned To Clap Her Hands
